Despite David's best attempts to wheedle his way back into his Mum's good books, Gail makes it clear that she wants nothing to do with him for the time being. David is shocked at his Mum's coldness, and is isolated further by Audrey.
His gran tells him in no uncertain terms that the only reason he still has his job is because she doesn't want to add to Gail's problems, before sending him away on a day's unpaid leave. After he gets the same response from Tina, David's bereft. He returns home feeling utterly alone and is astounded when Ted announces that he has forgiven him - and in time, so will Gail.
On the day of the visit, Rosie feigns illness to stay off work and, in the most provocative clothing she owns, sneaks to the prison to see what John could possibly want.
Meanwhile, Fiz makes up her mind that she's going to try and see John whether he wants her to or not. Kirk tries his best to talk her out of it, but when she makes it clear that there's no point, he agrees to go to the prison with her. When Fiz arrives with no visiting order, a prison officer makes it clear that she's not allowed in. However, the guard takes pity on her after hearing her story and agrees to speak to John on her behalf.
Audrey and Natasha are shocked to discover that Tony has spent the night at Maria's. Despite Maria's protests that he's only staying with her until the baby is born, she can't help but notice that they are growing closer.
When Norris sacks the paper boy, Rita makes Norris deliver the papers himself. After the morning round nearly finishes Norris off, Ramsay steps in and offers to deliver the papers, much to Norris's dismay.
