Plot

Molly's busy ensuring everything's in place for Jack and Vera's golden wedding anniversary party at the Rovers. It’s a great success with Paul supplying the food and bubbly and Jack serenading Vera after surprising everyone with a soppy speech!

However, amidst all the revelry Paul slips out and is rifling through Jack’s stash tin when the happy (slightly tipsy) couple arrive home. Oblivious Jack and Vera thank him profusely for making their anniversary so special.

Meanwhile at the Platts, Gail is furious with David for not collecting the result of his one GCSE. Jason's worried about what David is capable of and implores Gail to calm down. He's still not sure how serious David was about wanting to kill his mum and doesn’t want to take any chances. However, everyone's gob- smacked when David reveals that he did collect his result and he got an A*!

At the Italian, Jerry arrives flustered and late for his date with Eileen. Jerry’s on edge but as they relax after dinner he’s delighted when Eileen reveals that she’s looking for someone to have a fun, uncomplicated time with, Jerry agrees that he's always up for a laugh.
