Plot

Eileen still won't listen to reason about Emma's pleas for Holly to be returned to her, despite Jason's shock departure from the Grimshaws. When Eileen then finds out he's stopping at the Platts' her anger boils over and she goes to slap him. Jason accuses his mum of being selfish, convinced keeping Holly is more about her needs than anyone else's, but Eileen refuses to be swayed. It's left to Claire to then plead Emma's case, arguing she may have been suffering from post natal depression when she dumped her baby.

It's Gail's birthday and as Audrey and Bill prepare to mark the occasion they enlist David's help in hanging a huge birthday banner on the street. The big 5-0 is clear for all to see, much to David's amusement, but Gail doesn't react as people expect, given her fiftieth is still a year away!

Liam is refusing to give up on Leanne after their night together and as they share a drink in the Rovers he tries to persuade her to go for dinner.

Meanwhile, over at the factory, the girls still aren't convinced with the Connors' explanation about Kasia's death and when they spot Carla and Paul laughing after a big shopping trip they're shocked by their disrespectful behaviour. It seems the gulf between the management and the staff is widening.
