From Muppet Wiki

Historically, the name "Elstree Studios" has referred to several film studios that were based in the town of Elstree and Borehamwood in Hertfordshire, England. Most of these studios are now closed, and the phrase is commonly used as the name of Elstree Film and Television Studios, a privately run production facility owned by Hertsmere Borough Council.

The Jim Henson Company filmed several movies at the studio, and The Muppet Show was filmed at one of the Elstree studios in its ITV days. George Lucas was also a regular at the studio, making the Star Wars and Indiana Jones films at Elstree.

From Wookieepedia, the Star Wars wiki.

"We could have shot anywhere in the world, but Elstree is our home."
Rick McCallum about shooting for Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith at Elstree

Elstree Studios are located near London, in Borehamwood. Until the late 1980s it boasted 6 large stages, all used by George Lucas for the original Star Wars trilogy. The largest Stage 6 was built specifically for The Empire Striked Back in 1979. This sprawling studio facility housed a complete film unit of costume, construction, and film-processing departments. A substantial portion of the complex was razed to the ground (including Stage 6) and is now the site of a supermarket. The result being that very little of the prequels, with only a few pick-up shots for Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith were shot there. Fox Studios, Sydney and Leavesden Studios were used instead.

The studio has begun rejuvenation with a newly constructed George Lucas Stage.
