History

Legend has it that it's made out of green cheese. Solomon Grundy was briefly exiled to the Moon after his second battle with Green Lantern (Alan Scott).[citation needed] More notably is the fact that the Justice League Watchtower was located here. The moon also became the base of operations for the deity known as Eclipso. The heroes of Earth once staged a massive assault against Eclipso's citadel - a fight that cost the life of Will Payton, aka, Starman. [1]

Superman Movies

In the second Superman movie, the Moon was the site of the first contact between Phantom Zone criminals Zod, Non and Ursa.

Wildstorm Universe

During the leading events to the World's End event during the events of Number of the Beast, the moon was heavily and partially destroyed and scattered into many pieces by a battle between The High and one of his rampant "Reaper" clones.[2]

Affiliation

When the CIS activated Project G.A.L.A.X.Y. and traveled to Earth, they met resistance from the inhabitants of the planet. The CIS, led by one of the scientists who helped build G.A.L.A.X.Y., established a loading base on Earth's Moon from which to launch an all-out assault on Earth istelf.

The Battle

Republic forces located the base on the Moon after traveling to the solar sytem using G.A.L.A.X.Y. They immediately realized the importance of planet Earth, and sent out a "Venator"-class Star Destroyer to deal with the loading base.

Unfortunnetly , the CIS saw the Republic coming, and put up a shield over the base. As a result, the Republic was forced to land on the moon's surface to capture the base.

The CIS launched an armada of AAT tanks, STAPs, and Spider Walkers to defend their facility. The Republic set down with an AT-TE, and several IFT-X fightertanks along with speeder bikes. An epic battle ensued.

After several days of fighting, a crack team of Republic Commandoes infiltrated the facilty and shut down all droids on the moon. The scientist and his staff quickly surrendured.

Count Dooku realized many G.A.L.A.X.Y. secrets and battle plans were in danger, and ordered an immediate bombardment of Earth's Moon that destroyed most of the loading base. The few survivors ran out of supplies shortly and died.

Return to the Moon

When the Emperor reactivated project G.A.L.A.X.Y., a Rebel Infiltrator unit was able to steal a single G.A.L.A.X.Y. transporter. They promptly travled to the solar system discovered during the Clone Wars and rebuilt the moon base.

The Emperor was displeased, and sent a massive army to the solar system to retake it from the Rebels. A battle ensued on Earth's Moon, which ended with the Empire completely obliterating the loading base after the Rebels were utterly destroyed by the Empire's walkers, tanks, and infantry.
