The Dustia is a rare enemy in the game Final Fantasy XII, found in the Corridor of Sand of the Dalmasca Westersand.

Bestiary Entry

Derivation: Oversoul

Rare variety of oversoul with a particularly evil disposition. This strain, as yet unrecorded in the Camp annals, is hunted in the Dalmasca Westersand.

Requirements

It appears in the Dalmasca Westersand, in the Corridor of Sand, when one of your party members has less than 10% of their HP remaining.

Battle

Dustia can be used to bring the player to a very high level, just after he/she obtains the Sunstone. It could be simply defeated with a Phoenix Down. The Book of Orgain it drops sells for a high amount of money, allowing the player to buy even more Phoenix Downs. Note: That it can be tough to get this item with just one party member because Dustia will cast Dark and will kill you if you do not zone out in time. This monster is good for speedy leveling because it is very easy to defeat, gives out around 1,000 EXP, and is chainable by leaving the area before the EXP and LP appear on-screen. It is best to use this exploit at the beginning of the game because subsequent characters' levels will be determined by Vaan's level. For example, if you get Vaan at level 30 using this glitch (before the fete), Fran and Balthier will have a higher level (31) than Vaan's, as well as other characters acquired as you progress through the game.
