The Dragon Scale appears as a Key Item obtained by giving the Viera Rucksack to the Viera Wayfarer after defeating Vyraal. The Wyrm Philosopher from the Cerobi Steppe will trade the Dragon Scale for the Age Worn Key, that will open the Hall of the Wroth God located in the Sochen Cave Palace, where the Hell Wyrm awaits.
The Dragon Scales are used to create Draconic equipment and can only be won from battles.

Blue dragon scales respawn in the blue dragon location in Taverley Dungeon. Obtaining them does not require any dragons to be killed but an Anti-dragon shield is an essential item as you may find yourself in close proximity to the large fire breathing Blue Dragons. Having an Agility level of at least 70 will help in collecting scales because it allows access to a pipe shortcut which cuts down the time it takes to get a full inventory and get back to the bank. It is also recommended that you have a combat level of 97 or higher so baby dragons won't attack you.
Blue dragon scales can be randomly selected as an item for the quest Fairytale I - Growing Pains.
Scales can be ground into dragon scale dust with a pestle and mortar. Dragon scale dust is a secondary potion ingredient used in Herblore to create weapon poison and anti-fire potions.
