—Rikku

Demonolith is a fiend in Final Fantasy X encountered inside Sin and the Omega Ruins. It is an extremely dangerous enemy that can be quite difficult to defeat.

In combat, it uses two basic attacks. Its normal attack is not terribly strong but may cause the Curse and Zombie statuses. It also uses Breath, an attack that will Petrify all party members, thus Stoneproof armor is a must. But its meanest trick is Pharaoh's Curse that it will cast as a counter attack. Pharaoh's Curse will inflict Darkness, Silence, Poison, and Curse.

When encountered in the Omega Ruins, it will have Initiative.

Strategy

In the Omega Ruins always have at least one character in the party equipped with a weapon that has First Strike to avoid being ambushed by Demonoliths. Inside Sin, this is not an issue.

The best strategy is to bring in your strongest Aeon to avoid its status attacks and damage it severely.

Your other option is a weapon with Silencestrike or a Silence Buster attack. Either one will prevent the Pharaoh's Curse.

Another option is to use Threaten to stop Demonoliths moves.
