History

Demeter is one of the Olympians imprisoned by her father, Cronus, in Tartarus in fear of a prophecy that he wouldbe overthrown by one of his children. She was freed from Tartarus by Zeus who took her as his wife and she concieved him a daughter, Persephone. Persephone became the infatuation of Demeter's brother, Hades, who had been instructed by Zeus to abduct her in order to conceal her abduction from Demeter, but Demeter pined so severely for her daughter that Zeus had to arbitrate that Persphone spend equal amounts of time with Hades in the underworld and with Demeter on Olympus. Demeter also became one of the patron gods looking over Wonder Woman and the Amazons on Paradise Island.
