Deep Space 6 was a Federation starbase designed in the early 2360s as a replacement for Deep Space 1 along the Romulan Neutral Zone.

In 2363, during construction of the station, a freak explosion killed the team and destroyed most of the partially completed station. Tal Shiar involvement was suspected by Starfleet Intelligence, but has not been proven. The salvageable remains were later used to build Deep Space 7. Deep Space 6 featured a Chinese restaurant that William Riker dined at while on the station prior to 2370. (DS9 novel: Dragon's Honor)

Deep Space 6 was a Federation Starbase in operation in the late 24th century. It was located near Zakdorn and the Romulan border on the core ward edge of Federation space. In 2374 the starbase was commanded by Admiral Rothschild. (Star Trek: Star Charts, Star Trek: The Adventures of Argus: "Messages From Home")

In 2374, the starbase was the destination of a supply convoy protected by the USS Argus. Shortly after the Argus' arrival, the Starbase responded to the hijacking of the USS Prometheus by dispatching the USS Spector, USS Alexander and USS Defender.
