Since Oceanic Flight 815 crashed on the Island, many islanders have died, whether killed by another island dweller or an unfortunate accident. A table is here to show the person, episode information, information on the death and the day they died.

  • Kelvin planned to escape the Island by secretly repairing the sailboat Elizabeth, under the guise of investigating the Island. On one of the days which Kelvin went to repair the boat, Desmond followed Kelvin. Desmond continued following him until Kelvin confronted him at the cove. He asked Desmond to join him, but Desmond refused. He attacked Kelvin, and accidentally killed him by slamming his head against the rocks. ("Live Together, Die Alone")

  • A few minutes after the crash, Gary Troup made a deadly mistake of standing in front of one of the plane's still-running turbines and was sucked into it, killing him. As a result, the turbine exploded, raining debris and remains all over the other survivors. ("Pilot, Part 1")

  • During a morning swim, Joanna was caught in a riptide. Boone and Jack made attempts to save her however Jack decided to rescue Boone first. Because of this Joanna drowned. ("White Rabbit")

  • While Goodwin and Ana Lucia go on a hike to test the radio find by the tail section survivors, they reach a point to rest. Ana Lucia knows Goodwin is one of them and the tries to get information from him. The two start to fight and as Goodwin throws Ana Lucia down the hill, she elevates a sort of spear she made earlier and impales Goodwin. ("The Other 48 Days")

Scott Jackson
  • When Claire escaped from the Others, Ethan demanded her to be returned or else he would kill one survivor each day. However the survivors did not return Claire. Therefore Ethan killed one survivor, Scott. He was found with several broken bones, battered and bloody. ("Homecoming")

  • After infiltrating the survivors and kidnapping Claire she escaped. Ethan attacked Jack and said he would kill a survivor each day until Claire was returned. The survivors decided to use Claire as bait in a trap to capture Ethan. Unfortunately, as soon as he was captured, he was shot four times and killed by Charlie. ("Homecoming")

Boone Carlyle
  • Asked by Locke to climb into the drug smugglers' plane to see what was inside, Boone found several drugs stashed in the plane as well as a radio which he used to contact rescuers. However it was the tail section survivor Bernard. Despite warnings from Locke to get out of the plane, Boone stayed inside when the plane fell. Boone suffered from many internal injuries and despite Jack's best efforts, Boone succumbed to his injuries. ("Do No Harm")

Leslie Arzt
  • When Locke suggested hiding survivors inside the hatch, Jack and a group of survivors set out on a mission to the Black Rock to retrieve dynamite to blow open the Hatch door. Arzt volunteered to go along with them, saying he knew "how to handle volatile dynamite better than anyone else." While Arzt handled the dynamite, lecturing the others on how to handle it, he blew himself up. ("Exodus, Part 2")

Shannon Rutherford
  • After seeing Walt, Shannon determined to find Walt by walking into the jungle. Sayid caught up with her and tried to apologize for doubting her. After Shannon once again saw Walt, but this time Sayid did too. Sayid then told her that he believes her and loves her. As Shannon ran toward Walt, she was shot once in the stomach by Ana Lucia, who thought she was one of the Others. ("Abandoned")

Ana Lucia Cortez
  • When Ben attacked Ana Lucia, she was determined to kill him. However when she had an opportunity to shoot Ben, she couldn't bring herself to kill again. Michael arrived and offered to do it for her, saying he also wanted vengeance after the Others had kidnapped Walt. Ana handed him the gun. Michael looked at the gun somberly, and says, "I'm sorry", to which Ana Lucia replies "For what?". Michael then shot Ana Lucia, killing her. ("Two for the Road")

  • When Hurley took Libby to nice picnic, Hurley forgot to bring blankets. Libby decided that she would go and get the blankets from the Swan. Upon entering the Swan, she witnessed Michael murdering Ana Lucia. Alarmed by her sudden appearance Michael shot her twice in the abdomen. She later succumbed to her injuries and died. ("?")

  • After chasing Yemi into the jungle, the Monster darts in between the trees, distracting Eko with its sounds. Soon, Eko is confronted by a huge mass of black smoke. Backing away, an arm of smoke reaches out, grabs Eko and smashes him against a tree. The "Monster" slams Eko against tree trunk after tree trunk, before finally lifting him high into the air and throwing him violently down to the ground, killing him. ("The Cost of Living")

Danny Pickett
  • Unsuccessful in killing Sawyer and being knocked conscious, Pickett, Jason and Ivan ran after Kate and Sawyer ignoring Juliet's commands to let them go. He later finds them and prepares to shoot Sawyer. All of a sudden, Juliet appeared, and shoots him twice, piercing his chest. ("Not in Portland")

  • When Kate and Sayid entered the basement of the Flame, Bea leapt out and pounced on Kate. After a scuffle, Bea was held at gun-point. After this, Sayid and Kate ascended to the upper level of the Flame with Bea as a hostage. They met Mikhail who was holding Locke as a hostage and during the confrontation, Bea began shouting to Mikhail in fluent Russian and towards the end of their conversation Bea demanded for him to "do it". He then shoots her. ("Enter 77")

  • After discovering Paulo had the diamonds, Nikki takes Paulo into the jungle and throws a Medusa spider on Paulo. Paulo collapses and Nikki begins to search for the diamonds. However soon after she is bitten by one of the spiders that induced a deathlike paralysis, which caused death-like appearance. She died after being buried alive alongside Paulo, as the other survivors were unaware that the two of them were both still alive. ("Exposé")

Paulo
  • When Paulo eventually found the diamonds, he hid them from Nikki. Nikki later found out he had the diamonds, and threw a Medusa spider at him, which bit him and induced a death-like paralysis in Paulo. He subsequently died as a result of being buried alive while paralyzed, unable to save himself. ("Exposé")

Anthony Cooper
  • Sawyer was tricked by Locke into going into the brig of the Black Rock, where Cooper was tied and gagged. After some discussion, Sawyer finds out that Cooper is the original Sawyer, who caused the deaths of James Ford's parents. When this is revealed, Cooper doesn't take Sawyer seriously, making jokes and blames Sawyer's father for his murder-suicide. When Sawyer instructed him to finish the letter, Cooper rips it into pieces, and Sawyer then kills Cooper by strangling him with a chain. ("The Brig")

She reported that the tents had been marked by Juliet as planned. She investigated the first tent, and subsequently was one of the first to be killed when Sayid shot the dynamite nearby.   • Mikhail arrived in the station and was ordered to kill Charlie as well as Greta and Bonnie, to prevent them from revealing that Ben was jamming his own people. After shooting Greta, killing, He chased down Bonnie and shot her in the back, but was incapacitated by Desmond before he could finish her. She gave the code to deactivate the jamming signal to Charlie before she died. ("Through the Looking Glass")

  • Ryan Pryce was the leader of the strike team to take the women from the Losties camp. However he survived the initial dynamite explosions and held Bernard, Jin and Sayid hostage. The next day Hurley ran over Ryan Pryce in the DHARMA Van during the rescuing of the hostages. ("Through the Looking Glass")

  • Jason was a member of the strike team sent to infiltrate the camp and take the women. He survived the initial dynamite explosions. The next day, during the rescuing of the hostages, he became distracted upon Pryce's death, allowing the tied-up Sayid to trip him and use his legs to break Jason's neck. ("Through the Looking Glass")

Tom
  • Tom was a member of the strike team sent to infiltrate the camp and take the women. Tom survived the initial dynamite explosions and held Bernard, Jin and Sayid hostage. The next day, during the rescuing of the hostages, he surrendered after the deaths of Jason and Pryce. However, Sawyer shot him in cold blood, in revenge for Tom's kidnapping of Walt. ("Through the Looking Glass")

Mikhail Bakunin
  • Dispatched to the Looking Glass to deal with Charlie, he was then ordered by Ben to kill Charlie as well as Greta and Bonnie. He shot both women but was impaled by a spear gun fired by Desmond before he could kill Charlie. He still survived, however, and swam outside, where he blew up a grenade in his hand outside the window, flooding it and drowning Charlie, as well as presumably killing himself. ("Through the Looking Glass")

Charlie Pace
  • After avoiding deaths foreseen by Desmond several times, Charlie in the communications room makes contacts with Penny. Penny tells him she knows no one named Naomi, but before he can tell Desmond, Mikhail appears outside and detonates a grenade, blowing the window open and causing the room to flood. Charlie locks the door to prevent the rest of the station from flooding, to save Desmond, and writes "NOT PENNY'S BOAT" on his hand and shows Desmond. He then drowns. ("Through the Looking Glass")

  • Upon reaching the radio tower, Naomi got a signal on her satellite phone after Charlie deactivated the jamming signal in the Looking Glass. However, before she could call her boat, Locke appeared and threw a knife into her back. She managed to crawl away, hold Kate hostage for the satellite phone and call Minkowski before succumbing to her injuries. ("The Beginning of the End")

  • After suffering flashes similar to Desmond's, Minkowski is kept strapped to a bed in the freighter's sick bay until freed by Sayid and Desmond. Minkowski leads them to the radio tower where Desmond can call Penelope Widmore, the "constant". However Minkowski dies of an apparent brain aneurysm. ("The Constant")

  • Distant and confused earlier that day, Regina walked out onto the deck wrapped in chains and committed suicide by jumping off the Kahana. According to Captain Gault she was afflicted by what might best be described as a heightened case of cabin fever. ("Ji Yeon")

Karl
  • On his way to the temple along with Alex and Rousseau, the three stop for a break. After stating he "has a bad feeling about this", they come under fire from Martin Keamy and his team of mercenaries. A bullet pierces Karl's water bottle, before he himself is shot in the chest and collapses dead. ("Meet Kevin Johnson")

  • On her way to the temple with Karl and Alex, the three stop for a break. Karl is shot, prompting Rousseau to grab Alex and hide behind a tree. The two decide to make a run for it but Rousseau is shot as well. ("Meet Kevin Johnson")

  • Doug was a member of Team Locke. Just before Keamy's attack on the Barracks, Sawyer is armed with a gun and frantically looking for Claire. He comes across Doug holding some firewood. Sawyer asks if he has seen Claire leave her house at all but Doug doesn't answer. Confused, he just asks why Sawyer is carrying a gun. Suddenly, Doug is shot in the middle of the chest and dies, spraying blood spraying on Sawyer. ("The Shape of Things to Come")

  • Following Karl and Rousseau's deaths, Alex surrenders to Keamy. He takes her to the Barracks and gets her to disable to the sonic fence. He uses her as a hostage to get her adopted father Ben to surrender. Ben refuses, stating that as she is not his real daughter, he does not care what happens to her - a ploy to get her released. Keamy then shoots her in the head without warning, leaving Ben shocked. ("The Shape of Things to Come")

  • Mayhew with the other mercenaries attacked the Barracks. However Ben called upon the Monster to attack the mercenaries in the jungle. Mayhew was then picked up by the Monster and thrown fifty feet in the air, ripping his guts out. Mayhew was brought back to the Kahana but later died. ("Cabin Fever")

  • When Frank refused to take Keamy to the island, stating that Keamy couldn't kill him because he was the pilot. Keamy then grabbed Ray, and, stating "sorry, doc," slit his throat to show that his threat was legitimate. He then threw Ray's body over the edge of the ship, and stated that he would kill another person every thirty seconds until Frank agreed to fly them. His body later washed ashore. ("Cabin Fever")

  • When Keamy arrived back at the Kahana , he ordered Captain Gault for his key. Gault refused stating Keamy was suffering with Cabin Fever. However Keamy forcefully took Gault's key, which was used to unlock a safe with a secondary protocol book in it. After watching Keamy slit Ray's throat, Gault confronted him, holding a gun at him. Keamy then revealed a device strapped to his arm. Suddenly Gault was shot dead by Keamy. ("Cabin Fever")

  • While escorting Ben back to the helicopter, the group was ambushed by the Others. Keamy ordered Lacour to look in the jungle for Others. Suddenly Lacour was snared by the legs by an Other and fell backwards, with his automatic rifle firing into the air. He is presumably dead. ("There's No Place Like Home, Parts 2 & 3")

  • When the mercenaries arrived at the helicopter, with captured Ben, the group was ambushed by the Others. Redfern was hit in the neck with a stun dart, jolting him with a lethal amount of electricity and killing him. ("There's No Place Like Home, Parts 2 & 3")

  • When C-4 was found in the cabin, Michael did his best to save everyone on board, by freezing it with nitrogen to delay the timer. However it was unable to postpone it because of Keamy's dead man's switch. Soon after Michael convinces Desmond and Jin to leave the room. After Christian Shephard appears to Michael, telling him he can "go now". The Kahana then explodes killing Michael. ("There's No Place Like Home, Parts 2 & 3")

  • After Michael repaired the freighter's engines, Desmond instructed Hendricks to navigate the freighter to the Island but refused to come within five miles of the coast, citing radio interference on his fathometer which prevented him from seeing the reef. Hendricks was still aboard the Kahana when the C4 blew the ship up. He is presumably dead. ("There's No Place Like Home, Parts 2 & 3")

  • When Nadine and the science expedition hiked to the radio tower, Nadine suddenly disappeared. Soon after her body was discovered beaten and bloody after dropping from the canopy above. She was killed by the the monster. ("This Place Is Death")

  • Finding Nadine corpse, Montand fled to a clearing where the monster ambushed him from behind, dragging him along the ground toward a hole. Robert grabbed his arm, however the monster pulled Montand leaving his limb above the ground. Soon afterward, he was heard speaking from the hole, asking the others to enter and help him. ("This Place Is Death")

  • Lacombe was found dead on the beach next to Brennan, having been shot in the head by Danielle after being "changed" by the monster. ("This Place Is Death")

  • Following the increasing frequency of the time flashes that ensued, Charlotte began suffering the effects of temporal displacement, experiencing headaches and double vision. Eventually, Charlotte was incapacitated, and died soon afterward, with Daniel comforting her. ("This Place Is Death")

  • After not being able to convince the oceanic six to go back to the island, tries to commit suicide but is stopped by Ben. After learning that Eloise Hawking is the key to go back, Ben strangles him and convinces Jack to take Locke's corpse to the island. ("The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham")

  • During the heavy turbulence their is a flash of light and suddenly they find themselves flying above clouds in daylight. As Frank flies over the Island, the Co-Pilot sees what looks like a runway. Frank flies toward it and lands, but cannot stop the plane before the end of the runway. The plane crashes into the near by jungle, impaling the Co-Pilot with a tree branch. ("Namaste")

  • When the plane was engulfed in the flash of light and under heavy turbulence, Rupa is seen being thrown around the cabin. It is presumed she died in the crash, as she has not been seen alive on the Island. ("Namaste")

  • When Paul and his wife Amy went on a picnic together, two Others ambused them shooting Paul dead. Amy begged Sawyer that Paul be brought back to the Barracks and Jin volunteered to carry him. When Richard Alpert confronted Horace about the broken "truce", they came to an agreement that Paul's body be handed over to Richard and the Hostiles. Before letting Paul's corpse be taken away, Amy took Paul's necklace and kept it. ("LaFleur")
