When Dean Winchester was still an infant, his mother was ruthlessly murdered by a demon while his infant brother Sam lied in his crib. Since then, his father John Winchester embarked upon a campaign to fight all supernatural evil in the hopes of one day finding the demon that took his wife. Dean spent several years traveling with his father from town to town, learning about the various monsters that actually exist in the world. Though John Winchester began training him in the skills of being a hunter, Dean's primary obligation was to look after his little brother.
Dean Winchester is based upon a character created for the WB/CW television series Supernatural. Although the Supernatural comic book titles are published by DC's WildStorm Productions, all characters and events exist in a reality separate from that of both the mainstream DC Universe and the Wildstorm Universe.
