David Liffiton (born October 18, 1984 in Windsor, Ontario) is a professional ice hockey defenceman currently with the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL.
He began his career in the 2001–2002 season on the Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League, with whom he played the next three seasons. He was drafted 63rd overall in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft by the Colorado Avalanche. The next year he was traded to the Rangers and began his professional career in the 2004–2005 season, splitting time with the Rangers two farm teams, the Wolf Pack, and the Charlotte Checkers of the ECHL.
In the 2005–2006 season he continued to play with Hartford, but also got to play in his first NHL game with the Rangers, registering no points and 2 penalty minutes. He has been known for his stay-at-home defensive style and physical play. On November 4, 2008, Liffiton signed with Esbjerg fB Ishockey of the Danish League, Oddset Ligaen.
On July 13, 2009, David signed with the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League.
