Davey
Also known as: The Muffin
Race: Bane
Home Planet: Bane World
Home Era: Early 21st century
Appearances: SJA: Invasion of the Bane
Actor: Jamie Davis

Davey was one of the Bane who attempted to conquer Earth in 2008, apparently one of the children of the Bane Mother. Using an image translator device he posed as a handsome looking PR officer for the Bubble Shock! factory in London and was under the command of Mrs Wormwood, another Bane. Like 'Mrs. Wormwood', it is assumed that 'Davey' is not his real name. Davey is portrayed as a clearly younger Bane than Mrs. Wormwood, he is somewhat vain, arrogant and naive, believing he could hunt and kill Sarah Jane Smith with ease and was fooled by simple human customs.

As PR officer, he gave tours of the Bubble Shock! factory and scanned every person who entered so that their minds were copied and fed into the Archetype. Kelsey Harper liked him, stating she visited the factory to see him and constantly called him " the muffin". After Kelsey inadvertedly set off the factory alarms with her mobile phone, angering the Bane Mother, he was forced to shut the factory down and get everyone out. He revealed to a frightened Kelsey that the creature was his Mother and ordered her to be taken to Mrs. Wormwood. He tried then to seek the other intruders (Sarah Jane Smith, Maria and the escaped Archetype) but was fooled by the apparent male custom not to enter the female toilets.

Davey returns defeated to Mrs.Wormwood

Wormwood then sent Davey to assassinate Sarah Jane Smith, thinking she might pose a problem, ordering him to take Kelsey back to Bannerman Road as an excuse to gain access to the street. However he was defeated when Sarah Jane defended herself and the group with some repellant spray (its contents unknown though thought alien in origin) and he was forced to retreat. Upon returning to the Bubble Shock! factory, despite begging for another chance, he was given to the Bane Mother who eats the children that fail her.

Davey is one of the trapped brewer-pirates in the Brewery on Braindeath Island, and is involved in the quest "Rum Deal". The player must go to him in order to get an Evil Spirit out of the Brewing Controls. Captain Braindeath informs players that the best way to get the spirit out would be to speak to Davey, who can be found in the bunk-room of the brewery and apparently used to be a priest, though this could be called into question judging by his involvement with pirates. Priest or no, however, he blessed the wrench that Captain Braindeath gives you and turns it into a holy wrench. This, when used on the Brewing Controls in the brewery, will result in your character shouting "The power of Guthix compells you!" and the level 150 Evil Spirit will be drawn out, and a bossfight will initiate.

Trivia

  • The line "The power of Guthix compells you!" is a reference to the line "The power of Christ compells you!" from the film The Exorcist.
  • Part of Davey's blessing is "Romanes Eunt Domus" (which is bad Latin for "Romans go home") and is a reference to Monty Python's Life of Brian.
