Dave Scatchard (born February 20, 1976 in Hinton, Alberta) is a professional ice hockey centerman who is currently an Unrestricted Free Agent. He last played in the NHL with the Phoenix Coyotes. He will be attending Vancouver Canucks training camp for the 2009-2010 season.

Playing career

Scatchard was drafted 42nd overall in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft by the Vancouver Canucks. Drafted from the Portland Winter Hawks of the Western Hockey League, Scatchard made his NHL debut in the 1997-98 season. During his third season with the Canucks in 1999-00, Scatchard was traded to the New York Islanders for Felix Potvin on December 19, 1999. Dave has been known as a solid two-way centerman throughout his career. He has currently been invited to the Vancouver Canucks training camp.

In the 2005-06 season, Dave signed with the Boston Bruins. He was traded to the Phoenix Coyotes for defenceman David Tanabe after playing 16 games for the Bruins on November 18, 2005. In the 2006-07 season with 8 points in 45 games, Scatchard was sidelined for the last 32 games with a concussion. After the disappointing season with the Coyotes, he was bought out the final two years of his contract.

On November 15, 2007 Scatchard was signed to a PTO by the Milwaukee Admirals, the top minor league affiliate of the Nashville Predators. After 8 games, he was released.

Prior to the 2009-10 season, Scatchard was invited training camp with the Vancouver Canucks.
