Data Install is a feature found in Dissidia Final Fantasy. When data install is selected from the main menu, the player can choose how much data can be installed onto the memory stick. The various sizes that can be installed are 245, 373, or 528 megabytes. Once selected the data is saved to the stick over a period of time dependent on how much is being installed. When finished, the game will load faster as it will now load most data from the memory stick instead of the actual disc.
The data install screen features a recreation of the opening screen of the Super Nintendo version of Final Fantasy V, with Bartz and Boco riding in the horizon and Mambo de Chocobo playing in the background. If R or L are pressed during Data Install, a chocobo's "kweh" and a moogle's "kupo" are heard, respectively.
Dissidia Final Fantasy was the first PSP game with Data Install, though the game Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce also features it. Data Install can also be done with most PlayStation 3 games, and all Xbox 360 Games.
