Darill, occasionally called Daryl in the Super NES translation, is a non-player character from Final Fantasy VI. She was Setzer Gabbiani's girlfriend, and owned the Falcon, which she promised to Setzer in her will. However, Setzer, being the risk taker he is, challenged her to an airship race around the world in his Blackjack. The winner would get the loser's airship. Setzer won the race. Darill said that she wanted to be the woman who flew closest to the sun, so she flew off promising Setzer she would return that night, but Darill did not show up that night at their favorite spot. About a year later Setzer found her airship crashed in a valley however her body was never found. He restored the airship and buried it under the ocean.

Taking note of the fact that Darill crashed on the Triangle Island, the location in which Gogo is found, and sence her body was never discovered, some have been led to believe that Gogo is actually Darill. However, there is little other evidence to support this theory.

  • In the Dawn of Souls and 20th Anniversary remakes of the original Final Fantasy, Daryl is one of the automatic names the player can choose for the Thief job.
