History

Daniel Dickerson was elected mayor of Gotham City after the city's year as a No Man's Land, and made himself somewhat unpopular, being the latest in a long line of bad mayors for the beleaguered city. He had little time for the ordinary people of the city and did not understand the unique frustrations felt by its populace after they were abandoned by the government for an entire year. He did not last long in office. While arguing with Commissioner Akins about police overtime, he was shot and killed by a sniper's bullet, with the perpetrator eventually revealed to be the Joker. He was succeeded as mayor by David Hull.
