Dad's Wasteland Outfit is the Vault Jumpsuit James is wearing just after exiting the Tranquility Lane Tranquility Lounger in Vault 112. It is identical to the Vault 101 Utility Jumpsuit except that the suit has black boots instead of sneakers, a black undershirt opposed to a white one and a few more stains.

It can be repaired with Vault Jumpsuits, the Vault 101 Utility Jumpsuit and the Modified Utility Jumpsuit.

One way to get this item is to reverse-pickpocket your dad either when he is talking with Doctor Li, or while he is standing in the Jefferson Memorial Rotunda.

Another way to get this outfit is by standing directly in front of the airlock door in the Memorial Rotunda right after James' death, so that you are right in front of his corpse. Hold LB/L2 and slowly rotate the camera around till you see "Search Dad" on the screen. This only works if his body has fallen close to the door. You can also do the same with Colonel Autumn, who at the time will have 10mm rounds, Colonel Autumn's Uniform, and Colonel Autumn's 10mm Pistol.

Also, if you're quick enough, you can pass through the airlock door to obtain everyone's stuff in the room. Unfortunately, there is no way out.

  • Despite being almost identical to a Vault 101 Utility Jumpsuit, Dad's Wasteland Outfit, while only offering a damage resistance of 2, weighs an astounding 20 lbs. - a little less than a suit of Combat Armor, and as much as Recon Armor.
  • Because the utility jumpsuits have the same stats -save for being much lighter- it is recommended that they are used instead, although Dad's jumpsuit may be kept as a purely sentimental item.

Dad's Wasteland Outfit appears only in Fallout 3.
