The Nintendo DS (Nintendo Dual Screen), sometimes abbreviated NDS or DS, is a handheld game console developed and manufactured by Nintendo released in 2004. The DS stands for "dual screen". The console features a clamshell design, with two LCD screens inside - the bottom of which is a touch-sensitive screen.
The Nintendo DS Lite, released in 2006, is a slimmer, more lightweight redesign of the earlier Nintendo DS model with a backlit screen; aesthetically sleeker to complement Nintendo's Wii, and to appeal to broader commercial audiences.
The Nintendo DSi, released in 2009 (2008 in Japan), is an even slimmer model than the Lite Model. Changes to the DSi are greater than the previous Lite model as it features two interactive digital cameras, an SD card slot, internal memory, and an online store as well as an internet browser built-in. However, unlike the previous DS models, the DSi does not have a GameBoy Advance slot.
The Nintendo DS is Nintendo's latest handheld game console, successor to the Game Boy Advance. It was first released in 2004, and has since been redesigned into the Nintendo DS Lite, and the Nintendo DSi.
Only one Grand Theft Auto game was released for the DS: Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars.

DS was the designation given to a group of two CR90 corvettes used by the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War. They participated in the diplomatic meeting between the Sullustans and the Alliance to Restore the Republic near Sullust during Operation Strike Fear, carrying part of the Alliance delegation. The meeting was interrupted by the arrival of the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Invincible. Hamo Blastwell and Keyan Farlander, flying R-22 Spearheads, held off the Imperial fighters until the meeting was concluded and all ships fled into hyperspace.
