Czechoslovakia was a nation-state on Earth from 1918 to 1992. In 1938, Czechoslovakia was absorbed into Nazi Germany, with the approval of the United Kingdom and France, in an effort to avoid World War II. However, the war did commence a year later. Following the war, Czechoslovakia was re-established as an independent nation. In 1992 the nation was peacefully dissolved into two nations, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
In an alternate timeline, Claude Picard used the example of Adolf Hitler's invasion of Czechoslovakia and Poland to justify his own military expansionism. (TNG comic: "The Gift")

Czechoslovakia (Czech Československo; 1938 - 1939 and Slovak since 1990: Česko-Slovensko) was a sovereign state in Eastern-Central Europe that after declaring its independence from the Austro-Hungarian Empire, existed from October 1918 until 1992 (with a government-in-exile during the World War II period). On January 1, 1993, Czechoslovakia peacefully split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
