In at least two universes, the city of Culat on Cardassia Prime is home to the University of Culat. (VOY: "Nothing Human")

The city is located on the edge of an expansive desert area known as Kurab, on a landmass known as Lower Riv├žal. (Star Trek: Sigils and Unions Catacombs of Oralius--"The Desolate Vigil")

Known natives

The infamous Dr. Crell Moset taught at the University of Culat as Chairman of Exobiology. (VOY: "Nothing Human")

Gul Dukat of the main Star Trek: Sigils and Unions continuity may be a native of Culat as well--that is, if he was born and raised in the same place as his Star Trek: Sigils and Unions Catacombs of Oralius alternate. However, the Pocket Book novels name him as a native of Lakat. Given the 500-year separation between the two universes, one of the two Dukat families could easily have relocated from its ancestral home.

Alternate universes

In the Star Trek: Sigils and Unions Catacombs of Oralius continuity, the city of Culat was the birthlplace and childhood home of future resistance figher Skrain Dukat. The city was also the location a large campus of Yavenn Pretam University--one of the leading faith-based universities. (Star Trek: Sigils and Unions Catacombs of Oralius--"The Desolate Vigil")

During the Occupation of Cardassia by the Bajorans, these universities were targets of attacks. At least one of them, the University of Culat, was converted by the Bajorans into an indoctrination center. This center was attacked by Skrain Dukat on a solo mission--and this is where he was captured. (Star Trek: Sigils and Unions Catacombs of Oralius--"Exits in the Haze")
