The Crystal Knight is a Trophy Rare Game enemy in Final Fantasy XII.

Bestiary Entry

Derivation: Crusader

Crusader wearing armor fashioned of pure crystal. Hunted in Giruvegan.

To spawn the Crystal Knight, the player must traverse from A Vikaari Kanbhru Ra to Dhebon Jilaam Pratii'dii to Sthaana Sagittarius and to Dhebon Jilaam Praa'dii before going back to A Vikaari Kanbhru Ra. To put it more simply, start at Way Stone XX and run a clockwise loop to the Sagittarius Gate Switch and back. This circular journey spawns the Crystal Knight. He appears on the platform with two Forbidden enemies. Note that in order to reach him, you must open Gate Scorpio. Also, once it has been slain, the Crystal Knight can never be hunted again.

Battle Strategy

The Crystal Knight is not the most powerful of Rare Game, but still should not be taken lightly. Before the battle, equip either Demon Shield or Black Mask to each party member to prevent damage by Darkga which can hit for 2,000+ damage. Also equip weapons with the Holy element to damage him more effectively.

As the battle begins, cast Dispel to remove his status effects. Next take out the two Forbiddens that battle along side him. Taking them out first will prevent a lot of negative status effects on the party. Next, attack the Crystal Knight, with one party member held back for healing and casting Haste to cancel out Slow caused by his physical strikes. The worst attacks he will use are Shining Light, which will hit for about 1,500 HP damage on the entire party, and Immobilizega, which will make the battle more difficult.
