Mister Crowley is a Ghoul resident of the Underworld in 2277.

Contents

Background

Crowley and four other mercenaries - Dave, Jeff Strayer, Dukov, and Tara -were sent to Fort Constantine by Allistair Tenpenny to retrieve a rare weapon. During the mission, Crowley was locked in a room full of feral ghouls by Dukov, who wanted to increase his own share of the pay. Crowley survived the imprisonment and harbors hatred toward those who left him behind.

Daily schedule

Mister Crowley can usually be found in either The Ninth Circle or in his bed at Carol's Place in Underworld.

Interactions with the player character

Mister Crowley provides the Lone Wanderer with the You Gotta Shoot 'Em in the Head quest.

  • Crowley cannot be enslaved by using the Mesmetron.

Notes

  • Crowley is considered a friendly unit, and all units hostile to the player will attack him.
  • Crowley is armed with a Scoped .44 Magnum, but he will also use his knife in combat.
  • Like other traveling NPC's, Crowley is vulnerable in the wasteland as long as the PC is around.
  • Crowley will not give the PC negative karma if killed.
  • Crowley will drop a finger if the PC has the Lawbringer perk.
  • Crowley has green hair, which is rarely seen on other characters.
  • If you give him the keys to Fort Constantine and cannot find him, he may be found in the Bomb Storage wearing the T-51b Power Armor suit.
  • If the player acquires the T51b Power Armor from Fort Constantine, Crowley will angrily say to the PC that "You stole what was rightfully mine!" when talked to.
  • If the player acquires the T51b Power Armor via the pre-opening method ahead of Crowley, he might later attack the PC.(Xbox 360)

Appearances

Crowley only appears in Fallout 3.

Behind the scenes

  • Mr. Crowley is possibly named after Aleister Crowley, a famous British writer and occultist. (Aleister Crowley's first name is often misspelled Alistair or Allistair, as in Allistair Tenpenny, the arch-nemesis of Underworld's Mr. Crowley.)

Bugs

  • Crowley may fall 'through' the Potomac River Bridge about two-thirds of the way across, probably due to a glitch in the programming. Crowley will continue his journey after his fall. (confirmed PC)
  • Occasionally, Crowley will go into a bout of slow motion sprinting, running at nearly half speed but with full striding animation. He will resume normal movement upon his next combat encounter. (confirmed PC, Xbox 360)
  • Crowley may deliver the "You stole what was rightfully mine!" line if the player acquires the Winterized T51b Power Armor from the Anchorage simulation. (confirmed PC, Xbox 360)
  • After getting the T51b Armor and Helmet from Fort Constantine by unlocking all the doors, then finishing the You Gotta Shoot Him In The Head quest by giving Crowley the keys, and fast traveling back to snatch the armor before Crowley finds out, Crowley has been encountered still friendly in the Presidential Metro, just inside the doors from M.A.R.Go.T., during the Who Dares Wins quest (BS and PL installed prior to beginning Crowley's quest, Steam version of game on PC).
  • Crowley may get stuck on his way to or from Fort Constantine.
