—Unknown girl

Cornelia, also known as Coneria (コーネリア Kōneria), is a town from the original Final Fantasy. It is located just south and east of the Chaos Shrine, and serves as the starting point of the game. Princess Sarah of Cornelia has been kidnapped by Garland, but the Warriors of Light rescue her and the King of Cornelia has a broken bridge rebuilt to allow the Light Warriors to travel to Pravoka. The town is built just below Castle Cornelia.

Trivia

  • One of the rooms from the Online Lobby in Dissidia Final Fantasy is named Cornelia.
  • Though the reason for the town's renaming from Corneria to Cornelia is unknown, many fans speculate that this change was made to prevent confusion with a planet from Nintendo's Star Fox series with the same name. It is more likely because Cornelia is a female given name and the feminine form of Cornelius, and was changed to be spelled correctly.
  • When you look into the town well, you will see a message stating that despite the fact it looks like there may be something of interest at the bottom, it is, in fact, an ordinary well. This is possibly a reference to the Dragon Quest series where in most games, there are multiple wells which you can enter.
