From Muppet Wiki

A conductor appears in the 1988 Play-Along Video Neat Stuff To Know & To Do. He asks the audience how you make a band stand; it's easy, you just take away their chairs. He cuts to stock footage of an unusually large symphony orchestra as he receives a rousing round of applause for his performance.

Tim Simonec is the conductor of the musical score of Lost. He has worked on many other projects with Michael Giacchino, including Alias, Mission Impossible III, The Incredibles, and Ratatouille. He is also an orchestrator and composer. In 2007, Simonec conducted the Honolulu Symphony with Michael Giacchino at the world premiere of The Lost Symphony.

Illness and the "miracle"

According to his official website, Tim's health problems have coincidental (but striking) similarities to Rose and Ben's cancers and Locke's paralysis. In 1984, a tumor was discovered on his spine and the operation to remove it left him a quadriplegic and he was told that he'd never walk again. Despite this, Tim is now able to walk and has regained partial use of his hands. This recovery, (which he puts down to his faith) is considered by many to be a miracle, as 'walking quadriplegics' are around a 1 in 1000 phenomenon.

A Conductor is an item used only in the Creature of Fenkenstrain quest. It is obtained by melting a silver bar in a furnace with a conductor mould in the player's inventory. This requires level 20 Crafting. It is used to repair the conductor upstairs in Dr Fenkenstrain's castle. Players can make these after the quest; however, they are useless once the quest is complete.
