Tired of the lack of privacy his status as Superboy afforded, the Kid decided to take the money his manager, Rex Leech, had amassed on his name to buy a dilapidated old complex that the Kid immediately named "The Compound." The place was far from a nearby town and had its own beach front. Superboy, Dubbilex, Rex, and Roxy Leech all moved in (as did Krypto, much to SB's chagrin).
Superboy was frequently visited there by his girlfriend, Tana Moon, and his good friend, Hillary Chang. He was also frequently attacked there.
The Compound was abandoned after Superboy went missing, following a failed publicity stunt. After taking a job as field agent for Cadmus, Superboy left the Compound as his home forever, returning to visit it just one last time.
