Commando is a Fallout 3 Perk.

While using a rifle (or similar two-handed weapon), your accuracy in V.A.T.S. is significantly increased. This perk increases your chance to hit by 25%. As with all perks that increase your chance to hit in V.A.T.S., this bonus is multiplicative, not additive.

Notes

This perk affects all two-handed Small Guns and Energy Weapons. It does not affect any other types of weapons, including all Big Guns.

Sergeants are enemies in the game Final Fantasy VI. Sergeants often attack in groups. Like most enemies in the Magitek Factory, their Defense is very high. Unlike most human targets, who are weak to Poison, the Sergeant is weak to Lightning and Water. Locke can steal Tents from them, making them valuable enemies to steal from.

Special Operations Officer, or Spec Ops Officer for short, is a Covenant Sangheili rank. They are also known as Commandos.

Contents

Description

A Spec Ops Officer is a position within the Special Operations Divisions of the Covenant, leading groups of Special Operations Commandos into battle against enemies.[1] They are subordinate to Special Operations Commanders.

The role of such Elites is to lead a squad of lower ranked Special Operations forces, similar to the role of the higher ranking Special Operations Commanders, but the troupe that SpecOps Officers command holds fewer troops than the one commanded by Special Operations Commanders.

Armor

In Halo: Combat Evolved, it is impossible to see any armor difference from other lower ranked Special Operations Elites, but in Halo 2, they are the only Elites that have wholly black-colored armor, as opposed to the extreme dark-purple of regular Special operation infantry.

Appearances

Halo: The Flood

So far, the only identified and branded Special Operations Officer and was mentioned firstly in Halo: The Flood. Officer Zuka 'Zamamee was tasked with leading a team to board the Pillar of Autumn and was injured in combat by the Master Chief. He was evacuated by a group of Grunts led by Yayap, who more concerned for their own safety than actually saving him. After he recovered, he requested permission to track down and kill the Master Chief, believing him to be the greatest threat on Halo. Permission was denied until the UNSC's raid on the Truth and Reconciliation, where the Covenant learned first-hand how effective the "Demon" really was in battle. 'Zamamee was deployed, with the promise of reward for success, and great punishment for failure.

Though his several attempts all failed, in part because of John-117's skill and partly because of pure tactical plans, 'Zamamee continued his attempts, driven by the knowledge that he would be executed for failing to do what he himself suggested. He was killed by the Master Chief while operating a Shade.

Halo: The Flood mentions that a Special Operations Officer is two ranks below that of an Aristocrat, presumed to be a Councilor. This, however, cannot be because that position is held by the Ultra rank. It may be that the Aristocrat was low-ranked or that Special Operations Officer is a rank comparable to an Ultra.[2]

Halo Graphic Novel

Bero 'Kusovai was an Officer under Special Operations Commander Rtas 'Vadumee. He was infected by flood, and killed by 'Vadumee after cutting off 'Vadum's left mandibles.

Anyone can use a pistol, rifle, or even a carbine, but when you need a base blown up, or a large brigade of troops taken out, you call in a specialist. You call in a Commando.

A true combat specialist, the Commando uses heavy weaponry and demolitions to break through resistance. Whether you prefer to get in close or fight at range, Commandos wreak havoc with their powerful weapons.

Phases

Basic Trainee

(After signing with the recruiter they gave us a day to say good bye to loved ones, then shipped us out to Carida. Daybreak on Carida comes with the clanging of sirens and Drill Sargeants barking commands in our ears. From there we trained in the hellish heat of the deserts to the biting cold of the artic, 18 hours a day. Months passed and in the end discipline was instilled and a singular purpose to do what was ordered remained. Kill or be killed, because hesitation means death.)

File:Commando Fundamentals 1.jpg

Commando Fundamentals I (CL 1)

Beginning with crude combat training, the basic trainee's first lesson is simply how to destroy things.

File:Commando Fundamentals 2.jpg

Commando Fundamentals II (CL 4)

The grenade is an important component in the basic trainee's arsenal. Trainees will begin by learning to use the most simple of stun-type devices.

File:Commando Fundamentals 3.jpg

Commando Fundamentals III (CL 7)

Basic trainees learn to use their weapon of choice to unleash a barrage of attacks against their multiple opponents.

File:Commando Fundamentals 4.jpg

Commando Fundamentals IV (CL 10)

Utilizing more training, a basic trainee can hone their attacks, making themselves more effective in combat.

File:Commando Fundamentals 5.jpg

Commando Fundamentals V (CL 14)

Basic trainees continue their training with stun-type grenades, learning to use a wider-variety of more effective devices.

File:Commando Fundamentals 6.jpg

Commando Fundamentals VI (CL 18)

Combat trainees are trained on how to execute a series of attacks in a wide arc, in order to hit as many enemies as possible with the least amount of effort.

Soldier

(It didn't take long before they gave us our first assignment. We were stationed on a planet in the core called Fresia. This was a nice post for a soldier fresh from the academy. A really easy time in comparison to being on Carida. Many of our comrads had recently been taken off world to Kuat to help stop a rebel attack. Little did we know then that our post was the real prize and the four spacecraft we were gaurding. The realization didn't hit until sirens started blaring and a corporal yelled "INCOMING...")

Commando Essentials I (CL 22)

Further refinement of the Commando's combat techniques teaches them to cause greater destruction to enemies and their assets.

Commando Essentials II (CL 26)

Crafty use of explosives compounds grants the commando the ability to not only damage his opponents but also deny them the ability to fight back.

Commando Essentials III (CL 30)

At this stage the Commando becomes more proficient in firing their weapon in rapid succession, laying down a cone of destruction in front of them.

Discomfort won't kill the commando, but slacking off on the field of battle will. The Commando learns to tough out greater wounds to continue serving his opponents a feast of pain.

Commando Essentials V (CL 38)

A staple on the field of battle, the Commando becomes proficient with the basic explosive grenade.

Veteran

(After Fresia, not many of us survived. The Rebels during the attack made off with the starfighters that they took out half of the base for. Since then I have been going from skirmish to skirmish and gaining ranks in the army. Now I look at the fresh meat coming from the Academy, boys all of them. This coming battle will make soldiers out of them or get them killed in the process. Today's mission is special, Vader is part of the attack. **BOOM** We flood onboard the Rebel Blockade Runner...)

Commando

(There is something about a planet blowing up that really makes you take a hard look at your experience. Going back to that time before the Academy and all of the events leading up until now. Only a handful of us army grunts left, complete masters of weapons, armor, and combat. Now we have to decide, stay with the Empire, join the Rebels, or gun for hire. Whichever we side we take, whoever comes against us in combat knows they have a hard fight ahead...)

When all else fails, use a bigger gun. Excessive force is one of the hallmarks of the Commando fighting style.
