"Coconut" was performed in episode 410 of The Muppet Show by Kermit, who was in a hospital bed with a "twisted flipper." In the skit, the nurse, doctor, and hospital room all become gradually wilder until Kermit finally hides under the covers. When he re-emerges, the entire room is a jungle, the nurse has a painted face, and the doctor is a Witch Doctor. At the end of the skit everything returns abruptly to normal.

There is more information available on this subject at Coconut on the English-language Wikipedia.

A coconut is a seed whose internal contents is consumed primarily by humans. It grows on plants; particularly palm trees, indigenous to Earth. Botanically, a coconut is a simple dry nut known as a fibrous drupe. The husk, or mesocarp, is composed of fibers called coir and there is an inner stone, or endocarp. This hard endocarp, the outside of the coconut as sold in the shops of non-tropical countries, has three germination pores that are clearly visible on the outside surface once the husk is removed. It is through one of these that the radicle emerges when the embryo germinates. Adhering to the inside wall of the endocarp is the testa, with a thick albuminous endosperm (the coconut "meat"), the white and fleshy edible part of the seed.

It can be found on the Halo 2 levels Zanzibar and Ivory Tower, atop palm trees. They can be shot out of trees (weaker weapons so that the fruit doesn't get destroyed) and played with.

Coconut
Coconut half

A Coconut is one of two items that are very closely related. One is a whole coconut, and players can use a hammer on this to turn it into the other item called "coconut", which actually may be more appropriately termed "half a coconut". Only one of these is obtained.

Players can use the half-coconut on an empty vial to gain coconut milk and a coconut shell. Coconut milk is needed for making some high-level potions using the Herblore skill[1], and coconut shells can be used to make supercompost[2].

Members can obtain coconuts from a palm tree[3], which they can grow from a palm tree seed in a fruit tree patch, provided that they have level 68 Farming[4]. They can pay a gardener a fee of 15 papayas to watch over the tree whilst it grows[5].

Players need 25 coconuts to watch over a growing magic tree[5].

Coconuts are also held by nature implings in Impetuous Impulses, a minigame.
