The City-Killer Combat Shotgun is a small gun in Fallout and Fallout 2.
Locations
Fallout
Two Combat shotguns may be purchased from the Gun Runners in the easternmost part of Boneyard, past the deathclaws. When approached by the guard protecting the only bridge across the toxic moat the PC should say they are looking to buy some weapons. By talking to Zack, a midget Gun Runner who sells the arms the Gun Runners make, the PC may buy two of these. Another Combat Shotgun may be purchased from the Arms dealer in the Old Town area of the Hob. Ammunition can be stolen from most police.
Fallout and Fallout 2 comparison
In the original Fallout, this was a very powerful weapon, especially if obtained early on. Point blank, the burst mode tears most enemies to shreds. The Combat Shotgun is somewhat rare in Fallout, only able to be bought from two merchants, and found on one of the tough guards holding the Brotherhood initiate.
While still an effective weapon in Fallout 2, there are many other weapons of comparable power, as well as superior shotguns that reduce the combat shotgun's standing by comparison.
