Charles Gibson (b. 1943) is a television personality best known as an anchor on ABC's Good Morning America from 1987 to 2006. In this role, he interacted with the Muppets during several of their appearances.
In a 2007 Sesame Street episode, he presented "predicament" as the Word of the Day.
Gibson voiced Charles Blitzen, a Muppet reindeer news anchor, in Elmo's Christmas Countdown.
Gibson was the anchor for World News with Charles Gibson, the flagship evening newscast by the ABC News division, until his retirement in late 2009, when Diane Sawyer replaced him. A video montage sending him off into retirement on December 18, featured goodbyes from David Muir with Murray Monster and Abby Cadabby, as well as Reporter Kermit.
