From Dofus

Your character is your avatar in Amakna, the world of Dofus. You can customize your character in a few ways.

Contents

Create your character

Class

There are twelve different classes, each dedicated to one of the gods of Dofus. Which class a character has determines characteristic progressions, which class spells they learn, and more. The Pandawa class is only choosable for P2P accounts.

For more information, see the article on class.

Advertisements

Gender

Select your character's sex by selecting the male or female sign on the right-hand side of the screen. Sex does not have any effect on your character in combat except for the appearance of the sprite. Gender no longer affects marriage.

Note: The beginner swords for Ecaflips are still based on the characters gender.

Character colors

On the "Customize" screen, you can select three colors for your character, which affect how your character's sprite will appear on the map and combat screens. This does not have any effect on your character except for the appearance. (Please note: Your colours cannot be changed, so choose carefully!)

Character name

Select a name for your character. The name must consist solely of letters and hyphens. It cannot contain numbers, spaces or symbols. It also cannot conflict with an existing character on that server.

Note: The 1.18 update has put certain restrictions on name creation. A name generator has been added to help create names in accordance with the new rules.

Names-

  • It must be from 2 to 20 characters long
  • It may only hold one hyphen.

(ex. "Beach-ball-babe" is not acceptable)

  • It cannot begin or end with a hyphen.

(ex. "-dofus", "dofus-")

  • It must begin with a capital letter.
  • Without a hyphen, it cannot hold more than one capital letter. The character following a hyphen may be capitalized.

(ex. "Rainy-Days" is acceptable)

  • It cannot hold the name of a class or some other traditional "mule" words.

(ex. "Enutrof-gold", "Drop-guy")

  • It must hold at least one vowel.

(ex. "ghkrtss" is not acceptable)

  • It cannot hold more than 3 of the same consonant in a row. (i.e., "Harkkken" or "Mennnar" is not allowed, but "Blitzkrrieg" is fine)

Character attributes

In addition to the characteristics of a class, there are two statistics that are important to a character.

Characters are the representations of persons in works of art. In the Fallout series, the term refers to the various inhabitants of the Wasteland. Characters can be divided into non-player characters (NPC) and player characters, depending on whether the characters can be directly controlled by the player.

If you count only sentient (talking) creatures as characters, then they can be humans (including dwarfs), ghouls, super mutants, robots, androids, some deathclaws, and a few results from science experiments.

From Grand Theft Wiki

Contents

Characters are the persons driving the storyline of the Grand Theft Auto games. There are twelve types of characters within the GTA series:

Playable Characters

  • Protagonist
Category:Protagonists

Protagonists are the main characters in the GTA games and are the characters the player acts as. In the first three GTA games (GTA 1, GTA London, 1969 and GTA London, 1961), the player could choose the protagonist. However, from Grand Theft Auto 2, the protagonist was a set character.

Non-Playable Characters (NPCs)

  • Antagonist

The Antagonist is the main enemy of the protagonist, who generally makes the life of the protagonist difficult. An example of an antagonist is Frank Tenpenny from GTA San Andreas.

  • Main Characters

Main Characters are characters who play a large role in the game, typically giving the protagonists missions or otherwise playing a large role in the games. Lance Vance, for example, was one of the main characters in GTA Vice City, although he did not give the protagonist (Tommy Vercetti) any missions.

  • Supporting Characters

Supporting Characters are characters who do not play a large role in the GTA games but do have an impact on the storyline. For example, Earnest Kelly in GTA Vice City gave the protagonist (Tommy Vercetti) missions but was not a key character throughout the game. His role, however, becomes particularly important when Tommy attempts to give Sonny Forelli counterfeit money, provided by Kelly.

  • Minor Characters

Minor Characters are characters who play a minor role in GTA games but who stand out from pedestrians (either by appearance or by name). An example is Curly Bob from GTA III, a bartender at Luigi's Sex Club 7 who appeared in one mission.

  • Random Characters

Random Characters are minor characters that appear at random locations throughout the city, giving the protagonist missions. Random Characters have only appeared in Grand Theft Auto IV, The Lost and Damned, Chinatown Wars, and The Ballad of Gay Tony.

  • Pedestrians

Pedestrians are a category of characters which includes both pedestrians and motorists. These characters are generic characters who appear through the game walking or driving around the city. Pedestrians tend to have limited dialogue and play no role in the games.

  • Street Criminals

Street Criminals are pedestrians that steal vehicles and often pick-pocket pedestrians featured in the series since Grand Theft Auto 2. They create a more replete environment in the city.

  • Multiplayer Characters

Multiplayer characters are characters who the player can play as whilst in multiplayer mode. Some multiplayer characters also appear during missions as minor characters, such as Mona Lott in GTA Liberty City Stories.

  • Mentioned Characters

Mention Characters are characters mentioned during game dialogue or on promotional websites for GTA games but are not seen during the games themselves. An example being Moweesha, who is mentioned on the GTA Vice City website. These also include people who appear on radio stations, except for DJs and hosts, such as Reed Tucker from GTA III's Chatterbox FM.

  • Radio Personalities
Category:Radio DJs

Radio Personalities are characters who host radio stations or programmes in the GTA games. An example is Lazlow, who has appeared as a DJ (for Chatterbox FM and V-Rock), a presenter (for Entertaining America on WCTR and Chatterbox on LCFR) and a radio intern (on V-Rock).

  • Fictional Characters

Fictional Characters are characters who are fictional within the GTA universe itself. An example is Herbie, the astro-goat of The Truth.

  • Deleted Characters
Category:Deleted Characters

Deleted Characters are characters who were set to appear in GTA games but were removed before the final version of the game. An example being Darkel and Curtly, both of whom were removed from GTA III.

eWrestling

Up to date as of February 01, 2010

From the eWrestling Encyclopedia.

A Character or Wrestling character in e-wrestling and professional wrestling is the on screen persona of a wrestler or handler. It is what an audience precieves when watching wrestling as opposed to what the wrestler or handler is like in real life. As an example on screen Ted Dibiase played a greedy millionaire whilst in real life he is a minister for a chruch.

Contents

Character Personality

Many personalities have been seen throughout the tenure of e-wrestling that has even exceeded the lengths that any non-fictional promotions would ever stretch to. A character's personality can strongly reflect that of the handler, or it can be based off of pure imagination. Here are some character personalities as example:

  • Arrogant
  • Cocky
  • Emo
  • Gothic
  • Hero
  • Laid-back
  • Leader
  • Prep
  • Pretty Boy
  • Political
  • Rapper
  • Religious
  • Sex Addict
  • Skater
  • Vampire

Many more personalities can exist when it comes to e-fedding. Many find it easier to write for a character who's personality they can identify with but this is by no means a standard.

Character Style

By the word style, it is not meant by the character's dress or speech, it is meant by your character's in ring style and ability. Many have presented a unique style and some merge their charaters styles. Here are some examples of in ring styles:

  • High-Flyer
  • Power
  • Submission
  • Grappler
  • Brawler
  • Technical
  • Hardcore

The choice of style will affect what kind of moveset a wrestler has and how they opperate in a match.

Style Desriptions

  • High Flyer - Many or most of your moveset contains aerial manuevers to attack your opponent from above rather than being face to face, especially if there is a size difference. Rey mysterio is the archytypal high flyer.
  • Power - Most of your moveset is filled with power moves such as suplexes, bombs and moves requiing the lifitng of opponents. The Undertaker or Goldberg are exmples.
  • Submission - A wrestler who prefers to try and submit their opponents rather than use big moves to pin them. A submission artist will have many locks and holds in their arsenal. Chris Benoit could be described as this kind of wretler.
  • Grappler - Similar to a submission based wrestler but a grappler is more of a catch-as-catch-can wrestler. Able to reverse moves and holds they are in effortlessly and also place their opponents in holds they can't escape. William Regal is a good example of this kind of wrestler.
  • Brawler - As the name suggest your character would prefer to strike their opponents with punches or kicks. This style does not necessaraly mean that the wrestler is unskilled. For instance it could be said that Stone Cold Steve Austin is a brawler.
  • Technical - Simply put this kind of wrestler use moves which require great skill to pull off. They will have a micture of power moves, submission and grappling. The best example of a technical wrestler in real life would Bret Hart.

Character Gimmick

A character's gimmick relates very closely to both personality and style (as a whole) but differs in that these gimmicks tend to be more fantastical than the personalities. The Undertaker is a great example of a gimmick as opposed to his Biker-Taker which was more of a personality. Some other examples are:

  • Paranormal being
  • Millionaire
  • Hill Billy
  • Show-off
  • Magical

Runescape

Up to date as of February 07, 2010

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

A group of players fishing.

A Character is any being in the RuneScape world, and is marked by a white, blue, green, purple, or yellow dot on the mini-map. Characters fall into two categories: Player characters (commonly referred to as "players"), and Non-player characters (also known as NPCs, who are marked as a yellow dot on the mini-map.)

Players are shown in different colours on the mini-map based on what they are in relation to the player. Players in white have no affiliation to the player, players in blue are either on the same team in a mini-game or wear the same Team cape as the player, players in green are on the player's Friends List, and players in purple are in the player's same Clan Chat.

An example of a real-world human-controlled player character.
This Goblin is an example of the many NPCs in RuneScape

Some NPCs can be attacked while others can't. Attackable NPCs are known as monsters. Some can attack players if the player's combat level is twice that of the monster or less. These monsters are said to be aggressive. NPCs who can't be attacked are simply known as NPCs (even though the term can apply to both kinds of characters). These can usually converse with the player or carry out a certain action. Examples of these NPCs are bankers, who allow players to access their bank accounts. Most NPCs have a certain zone through which they can move freely (exceptions are random event NPCs, who can appear anywhere). Most monsters have combat levels just like players (exceptions are the Strange plant and the Security Guard, but NPCs do not.

There are many different possible 'looks' for your character with the basic look being a bald man wearing a tan shirt and green pants. Many Macroers use this look to save time. Many players also use this look to save time so not everyone who is this basic form is a Macroer and not all who are not this basic form are not Macroers. Many players do not care about their look as their characters are almost always seen wearing armour.

In-game players are often named by their Username by other players and by NPCs. NPCs sometimes give nicknames to players depending on their relations to them or by their descriptions or by their traditions or by any other methods not mentioned here. For example, upon completion of the Fremennik Trials quest, players are called by their Fremennik name. Another example is how the Troll race give names depending on what they first ate as a child. Different races call players different names as well such as Mortal and Human. In most quest involving with the mainstream RuneScape storyline, players are frequently referred to as, the Adventurer, meaning that the player is in fact an adventurer or a chosen hero.

SWG Wiki

Up to date as of February 04, 2010

From SWG Wiki

Character refers to an interactive humanoid representation of a game persona. Characters controlled by a player are most often referred to as a character and sometimes as avatar or toon. Characters controlled by the game are usually referred to as Non-player characters or NPCs.

Characteristics include: profession, species, attribute, faction, equipment, pets, housing, vehicles, mounts and ships.

Slots

The maximum number of characters per user account is 8, with no more than 2 per Galaxy. Prior to the NGE, a second character on a single galaxy was a benefit of having unlocked a Force Sensitive character with a system that has now been removed. Due to the changes that went in with the NGE, all of the players who had unlocked and created a second character before the NGE was released, were able to create a third character. This was not originally an intended or promised benefit to players who had unlocked their original second character under the old system, but the third slot was not revoked.

Name changes

A /rename command has been added to allow you to rename your character. A character must be at least 90 days old before he/she can be renamed. There is a 90 days wait before the character can be renamed again. Run the /rename command and follow the on screen instructions.

Transfers

You may transfer characters from accounts to account or server using the appropriate Character transfer service.

Tibia

From TibiaWiki

Visit the"Character" on the official website of tibia.

Concept

A character is a Tibian identity of someone who plays Tibia. Your character is your graphical representation in-game, and he or she will do whatever you tell him or her to do, limited to the game's possibilities.
When you create a character and log in with it, the character (also called char) appears at Rookgaard's Tutorial Island.

Note: You can have 20 characters and 5 deleted characters on the same account.

Graphically

The graphic appearance of a char is divided in three parts: The character's graphic representation itself (the "outfit"), the name of the character and his or her hitpoints. It is possible to hide the name and the hitpoints by pressing Control+N or just the name by pressing Control+N twice. Pressing Control+N once again will revert everything back to default.

Gameplay information on characters

Characters, as true heroes, grow during their adventures. Each character starts with the same amount of experience and skills, and it's up to you to raise yours. This can be done throught slaying monsters, completing some quests and training.
Once per day, there's a server save on all worlds, that will save your advancement on your character; thus, there's no other way to lose the upgrades you've done on him or her until you die, or a server reset takes place.

Distinctive Characters

Main article: Distinctive Characters

Some characters in Tibia have had a large impact upon the entire Tibia community (more than just their Gameworld).

(Redirected to Character Cards article)

From Yu-Gi-Oh Card Maker Wiki

Creator: XD Master

This project is to do something I've always dreamed of inventing: Yu-Gi-Oh! Characters as cards!

You all know Jaden controls Elemental Heroes, Neo-Spacians, and Evil Heroes right? What if there were character-specific effects that boosted these categories?

Character cards do not go in the Deck. They are placed face-up in a new Zone called the Character Zone. Simple enough, right?

Just create cards with pictures of all the anime characters and some Spell/Trap cards that require that character to be active:

Character Card template

{{CardTable
|name = the Character's name
|kanji = Japanese name (copy from YGO Wikia)
|trans = Japanese Translated name (copy from YGO Wikia)
|altname = any fan-made alternate names (for your fanfics, maybe?)
|image = CharactersImage.jpg, leave blank if none.
|attribute = Dark, Light, Earth, Wind, Fire, or Water. Never should there be two Attributes.
|sets = [[Character Cards]] (and anything else you want to add it to)
|level = Number between 1-12. Try to imitate their signature monster! ;)
|desc = Image's Description.
|type = Character
|type2 = I'll handle whether or not they will have this
|lore = Make a description of the character. (e.g. The most awesome Duelist on the planet!!)

Q:Characters with effects?

A:Let me deal with those.

Q:Characters with ATK/DEF?
