The Centaurus class was a type of Starfleet starship in operation in the mid 23rd century. They were one of the smallest warp-capable ships used by Starfleet, with a maximum capacity of 100 persons. They were primarily used as scouts, ambassadorial transports, and scientific surveyors. (TOS novel: Cloak)
