Cattle were domesticated creatures native to Earth. The females were known as Cows and the males were known as Bulls. They were killed by humans for their meat and hide, and used to produce milk.

As Earth's influence spread, cattle were shipped off the planet to across the Galaxy, such as Jadea. (EDA: Placebo Effect)

Bill, a Tyrian bull

Tyrian cattle

Several of these cattle can be found in Bergen Hot Springs and there is one located in Gadd's Encampment. One bull of this type, Bill, can be found in Pre-Searing Ascalon until completion of the quest A Mesmer's Burden.

Cattle in Sunqua Vale

Canthan cattle

Found roaming Shing Jea Island, these large cow-like beasts are untargetable, cannot be tamed, but do body block the player. Sometimes, very rarely they turn hostile when hurt by AoE damage.

Unlike other large beasts such as Dolyaks found stationary in explorable areas, these animals move in apparently random grazing patterns.

There is also a cow next to the dog outside of Kaineng Center.

Targetable cows with the same appearance can be seen in Marga Coast in Guild Wars Nightfall.

Trivia

  • The Tyrian cattle resemble highland cattle, but with larger horns and a prominent hump.
  • Given the Asian theme of Factions and their distinctive appearance, the cattle of Shing Jea Island are most likely Carabaos, an Asian sub-species of Water Buffalos.
  • The cattle on Shing Jea Island can drop event items when killed (with AoE attacks) upon which Guild Wars identifies the species as Water Buffalo.

Cattle, colloquially referred to as cows, are domesticated ungulates, a member of the sub-family Bovinae of the family Bovidae. They are raised as livestock for meat (called beef and veal), dairy products (milk), leather and as draft animals (pulling carts, plows and the like).

Trivia

  • An image of cattle in a slaughterhouse was one of the many memories Jacob Keyes fed the Infection Form in his mind in order to keep military secrets safe.[1]
  • A colonial refugee, interested in the kitten-shaped chatters sold by Rani Sobeck, asked her if she had anything less "girly", like a cow.[2]

From Wookieepedia, the Star Wars wiki.

"The Empire landed troops and built barracks. Then, after they had more weapons than we did, they took over the city and the mountain and began shipping our people off like cattle."
Sartok

Cattle was a plural noun used to describe domesticated animals owned as property. For example, the derlacs of Shaum Hii were sold in noisy cattle markets. The Nazren compared to the way the Imperials and Trandoshan slavers treated them as being treated like cattle.

Animals known as variform cattle were found on Sulon.
