Her profile on the LCPD Database also states that she is a nymphomaniac.

Personality

Carmen usually refers to herself in third person, e.g. 'She' and 'Carmen'. She also considers herself very attractive, and upon entering strip clubs will say, "My tit job is so much better than the ones these girls have got." She also sometimes has her nails and hair done. Carmen is possibly bisexual, as she enjoys going to strip clubs on dates, her sexuality on Lovemeet is put as "free spirit", and she can be seen dancing with Elizabeta Torres at a party during the Blow Your Cover mission. She also claims to be in several different relationships, and says she will never settle down "like her mama."

Dating Preferences

Carmen likes expensive clothing from Modo or Perseus and likes Niko to wear different clothes on each date. Carmen is a lot more wilder than the other girlfriends as she enjoys getting a wanted level. Escaping from the cops is a ideal way to raise her fondness. She likes expensive luxury or sports cars and coupes, and also enjoys visiting Bars or Strip Clubs for early dates and Restaurants for later dates. She does not however, seem to like the Banshee. Carmen also enjoys motorcycles, saying "my friend drives a bike too, Niko" and "Damn, Niko! Lets go". She doesn't however, like the Faggio.

Carmen Reyes is Hurley's mother. She is a devout Catholic, and is fluent in Spanish. She is often overbearing towards Hurley. Carmen has at least one other son, Diego Reyes.

Contents

Hurley's childhood and deck incident

Her husband, David Reyes left the family about 17 years before Hurley came to the Island. ("Tricia Tanaka Is Dead")

When Hurley became reclusive and practically catatonic after the deck accident, she had him committed to the Santa Rosa Mental Health Institute. He later moved back in with her after his condition improved. She is the heir to Hurley's millions, although she doesn't know this. ("Numbers") ("Dave")

Lottery win

When Hugo won the lottery using the Numbers, she was affected by his bad luck as well. Her father-in-law Tito died of a heart attack during a press conference; her other son, Diego, moved back in after his wife Lisa (whom Carmen refers to as "that whore") eloped with a waitress; and she broke her ankle while getting out of the car to see the new house Hugo had bought her with his winnings. The house subsequently caught fire. ("Numbers")  ("Everybody Hates Hugo")

David's return

She later shared a mansion with Hugo in Los Angeles. Worried that Hugo was obsessed with the idea of being cursed, she called her estranged husband -- he moved back in and they became intimate again, to Hugo's disgust. ("Tricia Tanaka Is Dead")

When Hurley returns from the island she is still in a relationship with her husband who both meet Hurley at a private military base just west of Honolulu, Hawaii, along with other family members of some of the Oceanic Six. A short time later she throws Hurley a surprise birthday party in the theme of a tropical island. She tells Hurley "Jesus Christ is not a weapon," after he mistakes the party as someone breaking into the mansion and using one of Carmen's many religious figures. ("There's No Place Like Home, Part 1")

She is out shopping when Hurley initially returns after breaking out of the Santa Rosa Mental Health Institute. When she returns, she is surprised to see "a dead Pakistani" on her couch. Later, she questions Hugo about why he is on the news. Hurley confesses all the events on The Island to her. She tells him that she believes him as he breaks down into tears. ("The Lie")

Trivia

  • Carmen and Nadia are currently the only off-island characters to appear in every season. Christian Shephard and Rose Nadler are the other two characters that also appear in every season so far, without ever being billed main cast.
