5th pick overall of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Montreal Canadiens, the young goalie, son of Jerry Price, a retired professional goalie who has been drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1978 NHL Amateur Draft, was named MVP of the 2007 World Junior Championship as he and the Canadian National Team defeated Russia in the Finals to win a third straight WJC gold medal. He was also named the tournament's top goaltender, as well as on the All-Star team, with fellow Canadian teammates Kristopher Letang and Jonathan Toews. He was also a key member of the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League who won the 2006-2007 Calder Cup finals.
His cousin is Shane Doan of the Phoenix Coyotes.
