A black cape can be obtained by killing a Highwayman or using black mushroom ink on a regular Cape. Dying a cape black requires a crafting level of 1, and grants the player 2 xp in Crafting. It is sometimes called the highwayman's cape because it is the cape that highwaymen wear. It has very weak bonuses, but it is better than nothing at all.
