Brynhildr (ブリュンヒルダ Buryunhiruda) is Sazh Katzroy's Eidolon in Final Fantasy XIII. She is a Fire-elemental knight who wields a large weapon reminiscent of both a mace and a pickax. This weapon has also been shown to fire projectiles like a gun.
During her Gestalt Mode she transforms into a sports car. Her super move is called Múspell Flame.
Sazh and Vanille will first face her as a boss, as a test to prove Sazh's strength to her.
Brynhildr is one of the Valkyries in Norse mythology. She was sent by Odin to decide a fight between two kings, but was punished by the god after helping his least-favored one. She is in the Volsunga Saga and in the Der Ring des Nibelungen.
Her finishing attack, Muspell Flame, refers to the realm of Múspellsheimr, the realm of fire and home to the Fire Giants and Surtr in Norse mythology.
