A chocolate brownie (also known simply as a brownie) is a small, rich, chocolate baked cake-slice, named after its brown color.
Brownies may contain nuts, particularly walnuts and sometimes almonds. Brownies sometimes have an icing; usually chocolate, but popular flavors include either vanilla or mint extract.
Brownies are consumed by humans, and were served for dessert to the young Spartan-II's on the first day of boot camp.[1]

Add vanilla, sweetener, eggs. Stir until well-blended and add the dry ingredients. Mix until well-blended, stir in chopped nuts, pour into a greased 8" square pan. Level batter smoothly. Bake at 325 °F for 20 minutes. Cut into 16 squares.
