The British Museum was a major museum devoted to human history and culture, located in London.

History

During the Victorian era the Doctor, Nyssa and Tegan went there. While there they encountered Egyptian religous fanatics, who kidnapped Nyssa. (MA: The Sands of Time)

Del McAllen worked at the museum. (NSA: Snowglobe 7)

In an alternate timeline in which Germany won World War II, the British Museum was renamed the Reichsmuseum. The works of art displayed there were taken by Hermann Goering to Berlin, and the building was used to store military archives. The Doctor, while posing as a Reichsinspektor General, visited the museum to consult the archives and find out when the timeline had changed. (NA: Timewyrm: Exodus)

In the year 5000 of another alternate timeline, the few remaining normal humans lived in what remained of the British Museum. (TVA: A Stitch in Time)
