Interactions with the player character

If you talk to him, you may reveal several secrets to him, including telling him about the riot Werhner is organizing. Telling him about Marco will get Marco killed. He gives 2 Stimpaks and 25 XP per piece of information.

Telling Brand any "info" gives the player negative karma. Interestingly, killing him in cold blood also gives the player negative karma, despite his role as a snitch to the slavers.

Notes

  • Given that he is missing post revolt he is likely killed by the Slaves for betraying them. Occasionally he survives, having run away and hidden. In this case he stands at his usual spot and still gives the option of telling the "info" even after all quests have been completed, or you can just shoot him for being a snitch. If not talked to before the riot, and you side with Werhner, he will greet you and ask where you are from but have no further dialog or options to give him information on other slaves.
  • Other slaves constantly warn the player not to trust him.

Bugs

  • Sometimes, he dosen't appear at all in the Mill. The reason for this is unknown.

Appearances

Brand appears in The Pitt add-on for Fallout 3.

character

Brand is the protagonist of Hikari no 4 Senshi: Final Fantasy Gaiden. He lives in the Kingdom of Horun with his mother, Cuore. Filled with a strong sense of justice, he is nonetheless juvenile and rough in manners. On his fourteenth birthday, he is summoned by the King of Horun to rescue Princess Carino.

Though the game follows a Job system, Brand is depicted as a typical swordsman in official artwork.

―Brand

Brand was a Human male New Republic Defense Force officer.

Brand may have been Force-sensitive; he had a habit of following hunches that would save him, his ship, or his personnel. This tendency won him many commendations and the rank of commodore, but also branded him with an erraticness that would deny him further promotion.

Biography

An inaugural officer of the Fifth Battle Group, Commodore Brand served under General Etahn A'baht during the Black Fleet Crisis. He was captain of the cruiser Indomitable, and commanded the eighteen ships of Task Force Aster at Doornik-319. Later, he led the three-ship patrol group which won the New Republic victory in the Battle of ILC-905.

Eight years later, Brand was a member of the Defense Force command staff during the Yuuzhan Vong War. Unlike other members of the command staff, Brand actually advocated withdrawing fleets to the Core Worlds, to protect the vital shipyards there. This brought him into conflict with A'baht. Later, Brand brought together with a unit of Defense Force leaders to guide the New Republic's military response to the Yuuzhan Vong. Brand was chosen to convince Senator Viqi Shesh's influential voice to support the reactivation of Centerpoint Station for use against the Yuuzhan Vong. He led the combined New Republic and Hapan counterstrike in the Battle of Fondor from the cruiser Yald. Brand barely escaped a court-martial, and remained a member of the Galactic Alliance command staff. He protested Borsk Fey'lya's dismissal of Sien Sovv during the First Battle of Coruscant.

Behind the scenes

Brand is given the rank of commodore in both The Black Fleet Crisis trilogy and The New Jedi Order novels, but in the former books, he is merely a cruiser captain and (perhaps temporarily) a squadron commander, while in the NJO he seems to be one of the New Republic Defense Force's senior commanders and strategists. It is possible that, even though his title remains the same, he actually holds quite different ranks on these two occasions: although no direct explanation is provided in this instance, "commodore" is used elsewhere in Star Wars canon to indicate not only officers ranking between captain and Rear Admiral, but also more senior commanders such as Imperial Systems Admirals.
