Robert McGill (born April 27 1962, Edmonton, Alberta) is a retired Canadian defenceman.

McGill started his National Hockey League career with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1982. He also played for the Chicago Blackhawks, San Jose Sharks, Detroit Red Wings, New York Islanders, and Hartford Whalers. He left the NHL after the 1994 season.

Drafted by the Leafs in the 2nd Round, 26th overall, in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft, McGill was rushed into service with the NHL team in the 1981-82 season. The 19 year old was clearly out of his depth in the big leagues.

Two seasons with the Toronto farm team St. Catharines Saints and McGill came back in 1984-85 a much improved player.

McGill was traded to the Chicago Black Hawks in 1987. He was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the 1991 NHL Expansion Draft. After travelling some through the league, McGill retired in 1996.

He currently works for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the media.
