Big Bird Plays the Violin is a 1991 Sesame Street storybook featuring Big Bird.

Impressed by Betty Lou's violin-playing talents, Big Bird decides to try playing a violin of his own! He gets one at the Fix-It Shop from Luis. However, he is not a good player at first, and his violin makes annoying screechy sounds when he tries to "play." Everyone is annoyed by the noise, even Betty Lou can't stand it, although Oscar the Grouch loves Big Bird's "music." Eventually, Betty Lou tutors Big Bird in violin basics, and Oscar admits he liked Big Bird's screechy music better.
