Paul Langer, being turned into a Berserker
Affiliated with: Berserker Pendant
Appearances: SJA: Mark of the Berserker

Berserkers were a warrior race who were the inspiration behind bersekers. They visited Earth at some point, where they were encountered by Vikings and mistaken for Human warriors wearing animal skins.

The Berserkers created special pendants, which they made to expand their armies. The pendants would allow people to control other people, and with every person they controlled they would become more like a Berserker. At least one Berserker Pendant was left on Earth, which fell into the hands of Jacob West, and later, Paul Langer. (SJA: The Mark of the Berserker)

From The Vault

The opposite of Champion, the Berserker reputation deals with the darker side of morality. Receiving this perk makes dealing with those of less than stellar repuations a little easier.

You have killed a large number of people. This is generally not a good thing to get known for. People from the wrong side of the track will like you a little more, however.

From Final Fantasy Wiki

Berserker may refer to:

Berserker was originally a term for Norse warriors who fought with uncontrollable rage and reckless disregard for their own lives. The term itself is typically translated as "bear's skin" in reference to the animal skins Vikings would wear into battle. Theories about what causes berserkergang, the fury Berserkers go into, include possession by an animal spirit, drunken rage, and ritualistic dancing. Berserkers are often depicted in art as men with crazed eyes biting their shields in anticipation of battle.

A Berserking Aurochs, the monk of the Berserker family.

Berserkers are a subtype of Minotaurs encountered in the Far Shiverpeaks. Like most minotaurs, they are often found charging across the landscape in medium-sized herds. If you are not careful, you can easily be overwhelmed by multiple groups traveling across the same spot.

A player activating the Berserker Curse

Berserker is a prayer from the Ancient Curses prayer book. This book is unlocked after The Temple at Senntisten. When Berserker is activated all boosts to combat stats last 15% longer than normal. The skills affected by this prayer are Attack, Strength, Defence, Hitpoints, Ranged, Magic, and Summoning. This prayer can save players much money, since they will need less stat boosters such as potions to keep their stats boosted. Players should be aware that, once deactivated, stats may fall at a rapid rate for a short period of time. Berserker is one of the few prayers that have an activation emote.

From Wookieepedia, the Star Wars wiki.

A Wookiee Berserker with ryyk blades.

The Berserkers was a caste of Wookiee warriors.

After the Galactic Empire established control of Kashyyyk and began enslaving Wookiees, Berserkers began to fight Imperial Forces, with an ultimate goal of liberating their homeworld, fueling their fighting fervor with rage at what the Empire had done with them, their planet and their people. They typically entered battle wielding two extremely large Ryyk blades, and were equipped with light armor for maximum mobility on the battlefield. The Berserkers were fierce combatants, fast-moving and very quick in their attacks, particularly when they used jetpacks.

Behind the scenes

A Wookiee Berserker.

Berserk is an Old Norse word that means 'bear skin' and refers to a select sect of Viking warriors. Metaphorically (as in the case here) it refers to any warrior who becomes extremely fierce and lethal (i.e., to 'go berserk!') in battle. It is also said that Berserkers may have, before battle, drugged and indulged in copious amounts of alcohol which may have created a state of madness (some of the effects could be irreversible, which connects with another legend: some berserkers were caged before and after battle) in which the berserker couldn't even see the difference between an enemy and an ally.

Aron Peacebringer also compared the Calian Battle madness to "berserker rage"
