The Battle of Cato Neimoidia was one of the opening battles of the Successors War. The battle proved that, whilst Darth Proditor was the most powerful competitor for the throne, he was not invincible, and prone to mistake.

The battle also proved the complete and utter uselessness of the NX-05 Venator II-class Star Destroyers in modern warfare as, not only did they fail to destroy the flagship of the rival Sith Lord, allowing him to escape, but the suffered extreme casualties, leaving only eighty by the end of the battle.
