Barrows - dharok's set: Misc

Up to date as of February 07, 2010

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

A player wearing a full set of Dharok's equipment.

Dharok's set is Dharok the Wretched's armour set and the set is obtained through the Grand Exchange, by giving Dharok's platebody, Dharok's platelegs, Dharok's helmet, and Dharok's greataxe to a Grand Exchange clerk for the set, buying the full set or in pieces from another player, or completing the Barrows Minigame. Note that completing the Barrows Minigame does not guarantee you will get a Barrows item. Like all Barrows Armour, Dharok's requires 70 Defence to wear, while the Greataxe requires 70 Attack and Strength to wield. Note that over a period of time like all Barrows items, the Armour will degrade, making it untradeable when it is at 100 and below. It is only tradeable when fully repaired or at (0).

When a player wears full Dharok's, it activates a set effect called Wretched Strength. The damage dealt increases as a player's hitpoints decreases. This changes when a player has less than 1/2 of their hitpoints and the effect greatly increases when below 1/10 of the players max hitpoints. In this case, the damage dealt will be double that of what would normally be dealt, just like Dharok the Wretched himself. It is possible with full set to hit a 110+ with full set using a Salve amulet (e) and with wearing max possible strength attacking an undead monster with 1 hitpoint and 99 strength with a super strength potion, or dragon battleaxe special. Due to the fact that at low hitpoints the risk of dying is very high, many players only use Dharok's for playing safe minigames such as Pest Control or when training on monsters with a low max hit such as experiments. Alternatively, some players utilise the set effect while using the Protect from Melee prayer, especially in areas near altars. Unlike the special effects of the other Barrows armour sets, which randomly activate, the effect is constantly active. The full set must be wielded to yield the special effect.

  • Theoretically, after touching the Stone of Jas, a player would be able to hit well over 500 damage, if they had only 1 Hitpoint remaining, used armour with the highest Strength Bonus, and were using Piety while drinking an Extreme strength potion. This is, however, impossible, as the player's hitpoints are constantly returning to 255.
  • The maximum hit seen so far with proof is 124 with the Ancient Curses:
