Barrels are a plentiful item in Fallout 3. They appear to be old oil drums from Pre-War days.

Contents

Locations

  • Located throughout the Wasteland

Uses

  • They can be used to access high places by stacking them together
  • Barrels can be thrown (using grab button) or "kicked" (by running into them) into people or other items.
  • Barrels will cause damage when "kicked".
  • Barrels can be used as a shield, although explosions will still damage you.

Notes

  • If you kill someone with a barrel, the PC's karma level does not change nor do nearby NPC's turn hostile
  • Barrels can also be shot with a shotgn to do more damage to NPCs. This is particularly helpful when using them to kill heavily armored enemies with high HP, such as Brotherhood troops.

From GuildWiki

File:Barrel.jpg

A Barrel is a randomly placed barrel containing a small number of random weapons.

Unlike Chests, Barrels are not locked, so you don't need a Key to open them. Just run up to the Barrel and it will pop open, revealing what it holds for the party.

Notes

  • Barrels in GW:EN can contain more than just various items. Some have been known to explode causing 100 damage to any nearby allies. Also, there is a chance an Ooze may be hiding inside.

GTA

From Grand Theft Wiki

The Barrel was a weapon that was removed early in the development of Grand Theft Auto Advance. The player had to roll it to an enemy and it would crush them. It was probably removed from the game due to it being far from realistic.
