By wearing a backpack you can carry more weight. It goes into the cloak slot in equipment; therefore, you cannot wear both cloak and backpack at the same time.

(Redirected to Backpacks article)

From EQ2i, the EverQuest II wiki

Backpacks are leather-based containers that characters can use to carry items with. They are made by Tailors or purchased from merchants and hold considerably fewer items than Strong Boxes. Because of their lower carrying weight and their benefit, in some cases, of added weight reduction (things weigh less when placed inside them), backpacks make great containers for carrying.

Backpack
Image:Backpack.jpg

A Backpack is a character's natural inventory space. It has 20 item slots, is customized, cannot be unequipped, but can be dyed. There is, however, no preview window for dyeing bags, as for weapons and armor, and the dye will not change character appearance, but only the inventory icon.

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

This article is about the item players use as part of Zogre Flesh Eaters. For other uses, see Backpack (disambiguation).
Backpack

The Backpack is found during the Zogre Flesh Eaters quest. Inside it holds items that players use to investigate Brentle Vahn's death. These items are a Dragon tankard, rotten food and a knife.

The backpack automatically disappears after the player clicks to check what is inside it.

Starwars

From Wookieepedia, the Star Wars wiki.

Rotta in a GAR backpack.

A backpack was an object carried upon the back used to carry items. Using minimal technology, the backpack was widely used throughout the galaxy. Luke Skywalker had a blue backpack.

Clone troopers and some Jedi carried backpacks during battles in the Clone Wars. Later on, Imperial Stormtroopers would carry backpacks during certain operations that required the individual Stormtroopers to be independent and self-sufficient for longer periods of time. The standard Private Stormtrooper backpack was equipped with an orange colored Pauldron and contained E-11 Energy cells among many other items.

Faction Backpack

Marine Armor Backpack

Marine Armor Backpack

This backpack was obtainable from a Rebel npc for some Faction points. It has been removed from game and is obtainable only from other players.

You have to be a declared Rebel to be able to wear it, Combattant or Special Forces. Switching to the "On leave" status doesn't unequip it though.

Looted Backpacks

Some randomly looted items have attribute modifiers. Since the items and the modifiers are random, it is not possible to list every one. Most items with an attribute modifier will have a suffix. The suffix determines the primary attribute, as well as the total number of attribute modifiers. Items without suffixes don't have attribute modifiers. The known total number of attribute modifiers that a randomly looted item can have is four.

Looted Item Naming Convention
Primary Attribute One Attribute Two Attributes Three Attributes Four Attributes
Agility of Quickness of the Rill of the Varactyl of the Acklay
Camouflage of the Dire Cat of the Gurrcat of the Bocatt of the Sand Panther
Constitution of Health of the Bantha of the Torton of the Hutts
Luck of Luck of the Gambler of the Daredevil of Destiny
Precision of Marksmanship of the Mercenary of the Veteran of Bounty Hunters
Stamina of Stamina of the Squill of the Tusken of the Assassin
Strength of Brawling of the Janta of the Rancor of the Jedi

For example, a backpack with the name of "Backpack of the Veteran" will have a primary attribute of Precision and two other attributes, such as maybe Luck and Strength for a total of three attributes.

Note: Some randomly looted items with attributes may not follow the above naming convention, especially those looted prior to Publish 28. Credit: Thank you to GerricSablestar for compiling the random loot information.
