Arwen Cohl was from the planet Mirial, bearing similar facial markings to those of Luminara Unduli.
Cohl was a freedom fighter who helped the people of Mirial fight a war against a neighboring planet. However, foul politics were at play, and Cohl was thrown into prison for allegedly being a conspirator against his own people.
After being freed from prison many years later, Cohl swore revenge against those who betrayed him, and became a hardened mercenary. His ship, the Hawk-Bat, was well known across the Outer Rim Territories. In 33 BBY, Cohl was contracted by the Nebula Front's militant faction to attack the Trade Federation freighter Revenue. The mission was part of an elusive scheme of Darth Sidious' that involved the strengthening of the Trade Federation.
A short time later, Eru Matalis, better known as Havac, the Nebula Front militants' leader, hired Cohl once again to assemble a team of weapons experts for a plan to assassinate the Trade Federation Directorate during the Eriadu Trade Summit, although Matalis told Cohl and his team that the plan was to kill Supreme Chancellor Valorum and frame the Federation for it.
Matalis pretended to try to kill him while on Eriadu in an attempt to throw off the trail of the Judicial Department and Jedi Knights who were trailing them. Cohl realized what Matalis was doing, however, and was able to help Jedi Knights Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi end Matalis's plot before he succumbed to his wounds. Many of his wounds were inflicted, during a last battle with Matalis, in which Cohl killed him. Cohl's lover, Rella and his Rodian side-kick Boiny had also been killed in this final conflict by Havac. This finished of the last survivors of the Original Hawk-Bat Crew.
