"Around the World" is the tenth single release by the Scandinavian dance-pop group Aqua overall, and the second from their second album Aquarius. The song was also their seventh and last release in the United Kingdom before their split in mid-2001. "Around the World" was released mostly in May of 2000, with the UK release following in December. The UK release was their lowest chart single there, reaching only #26 (admittedly against the tough Christmas market). The chart position showed that their popularity had fallen and resulted in the follow-up "Bumble Bees" not being released there at all (although, the song "Freaky Friday" had been lined up as a third release shortly before their split).
"Around the World" was, like "Cartoon Heroes", a more anthemic song than those from the Aquarium era. The slight change in style had lost them some of their fans, only without gaining new ones, resulting in less interest in the single release.
The music video for the song featured the members of the band stealing a valuable diamond. It was one of five Aqua-videos directed by Peder Pedersen.
